Hong Kong Pools – The Best Places to Cool Off in the Summer Sun

Whether it’s splashing around in the water or cooling down with a refreshing tipple, there’s no better way to soak up the summer sun than at one of Hong Kong’s pools. Luckily, we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to swimming spots – from family-friendly water parks to stunning rooftop pools, you can find them all in our city of wonders. So, grab your swimsuit, sunscreen and water bottle, we’ve got a pool party to plan!

While we’re all familiar with the public and government-run pools that you can visit, there are also a number of lux hotel pools that offer a much more private and luxurious experience. In fact, many of the hotels featured on our list of top luxury Hong Kong accommodations have their own pools, giving you an opportunity to enjoy (semi) privacy, top-notch facilities, amazing views, and delicious dining options all while dipping your toes into the water!

One of the best hongkong pools to go to for some relaxing time out is the impressive pool at The Peninsula. Designed with an architecturally impressive Roman-inspired structure, the pool is a show-stopper in and out of the water, making it perfect for those looking to have a dip and some downtime in style. Plus, when you’re finished with your dip, make sure to head over to their popular terrace bar, Red Sugar for a drink or two – the view is not to be missed!

Another must-visit is the Tai Wan Shan swimming complex – a massive outdoor pool with stunning views of Victoria Harbour. The eight pools are perfectly sized so you’ll always have your own space to splash around and take in the scenery, even on a busy day! With baby changing rooms and a spa area, it’s a great place to bring the whole family to cool off and have fun.

The HK pools in the city are managed by LCSD and entrance fees cost HK$17 on weekdays and HK$19 on weekends for adults, with discounted rates available for those above 60, between the ages of 3 – 13 or full-time students. Those with disabilities can enjoy free entry into all the pools.

For those who prefer to skip the crowds and have a more private experience, you can purchase an Asaya membership that gives you access to all of their pools, including the Tai Wan Shan. Members can also get 12 complimentary day passes to use at the pool upon their membership purchase, so you can cool off as often as you like this summer! To learn more, click here.
